San Francisco 49ers release former first-round pick

With a top-five defence in yards allowed during the previous four seasons, the San Francisco 49ers have one of the greatest defences in football for a significant amount of time.

Taco Charlton, a former first-round choice, will regrettably not be a part of their renowned defence in the upcoming campaign.

Because of his outstanding career at Michigan, Charlton was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys with the 28th overall choice of the 2017 NFL Draught.

Sadly, Charlton's career in the NFL has not gone as planned; he played for five different teams in his first six seasons. In addition, Charlton has only made 13 starts in the league since his debut in 2017.

He will once more need to search elsewhere in order to perhaps resurrect his NFL career

because the 49ers dismissed him on Sunday after reaching an injury settlement after placing him on injured reserve earlier in the month.

Before the start of the regular season, Charlton will have just two weeks to locate a new team that is willing to sign him.

Fans are not optimistic that will happen given his past inability to connect with clubs.
